Executive Coaching For Organizations

Engaged Teams For Excellent Care.

My name is Rachel Miller. I am an executive coach with a physician background.

It is my mission to improve the connection between leaders and physicians, and create engaged, and highly effective healthcare teams.

Some of the challenges I help my clients with:

  • A recent change in leadership
  • High employee turnover, high cost of making new physician hires
  • Low employee engagement, unmotivated leaders and physicians
  • Friction between executives and physicians
  • Patient satisfaction problems

Most organizations are struggling with one or more of these issues, even if it’s not obvious at first glance.

One thing is always common with my clients:

They want to give the absolute best care to their patients, make their employees more engaged and motivated, and want to have a strong, stable presence in their market.

If that sounds like your organization, I can most likely help you get to that stable presence through executive coaching.

I follow a simple and reliable approach that I call “Pocket Bridges” to maximize the efficiency of teams and executives.

The Pocket Bridges Coaching System

1.

I start by creating an assessment of the current situation of your organization. We lay down the goals you’d like to reach and compare them to where you are right now.

I then look at your leadership structure, and we create our leadership dashboard.

I perform a 360-degree assessment, which includes surveying executives as well as physicians and other administrators.

2.

I uncover issues with teams and leaders. These often include low emotional intelligence, team organizational issues, and miscommunication.

I list each of the areas we need to work on. After we have everything uncovered, I start designing custom-tailored solutions for each problem.

3.

Depending on the problems, I will suggest coaching individual leaders or groups, and other different ways to optimize your current teams.

The coaching of groups and individuals will each follow their own roadmaps.

We will work together on a customized schedule to implement everything we need to improve collaboration and team engagement.

I present our progress with each individual and group to you in a monthly debrief session.

After just a couple months of coaching, you will see drastic changes in the following:

Collaboration of teams

Engagement of leaders and physicians

Turnover rates and customer feedback

Coaching projects are fully custom-tailored to the unique challenges of each organization and team.

Let’s discuss your unique situation and find out how coaching can help you.

About Me

After graduating in medicine at East Carolina University, I completed my Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

I’ve been a physician since 2009 and have been Board Certified Ob/GYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

After joining my first practice post-residency, I quickly became involved in leadership roles related to all aspects of the practice, including the business part of the practice.

After 5 years of various leadership roles, I became the lead physician and chair of the women’s service line for the hospital.

As my new position was announced, one of my peer physicians jokingly said that I was going to the dark side.

While this statement was supposed to be a joke, it shows that there is a tremendous disconnect between leaders and physicians.

I later discovered that this disconnect is present across many healthcare institutions. I made it my mission to change this.

Today, I work with individual leaders, as well as organizations to put an end to this issue.

I coach leaders and their teams to work together efficiently, increase employee engagement, and ultimately, make healthcare better for everyone.
